first communion and reconcilation
Preparation occurring as a separate module from weekly faith formation
All children will complete Faith Formation classes with St. Monica's formation or through Catholic school or an accredited homeschool program, as well as additional Sacramental formation under the guidance of their parents

There are three mandatory meetings that are designed to help renew their own sense of faith and commitment to the Sacraments of the Eucharist and Reconciliation
All necessary materials and practical advise will be given
There are no makeup meetings

a copy of the child's baptismal certificate must be provided upon registration
Child's eligibility
Children preparing to receive these Sacraments must:
Be baptized in the Christian faith
(If your child isn't baptized, they will need to refer to requirements for Christian Initiation)
Be registered and active members of the parish
Attend Mass every Sunday and Holy Day of Obligation
Be in second grade or above
(If your child is in eighth grade or above, they will need to refer to requirements for Christian Initiation)
Have satisfactorily completed the previous year of Faith Formation, and new parishioners should submit transfer records to the Faith Formation office upon registration
Be currently registered for Faith Formation classes, home study, Catholic school, or an accredited home school
(A $50 materials fee is charged for those not registered in St. Monica's Faith Formation)
Complete Sacramental preparation workbooks at home with parents, as well as the Mass reflection sheets
Attend First Communion and Reconciliation Retreat with a parent or guardian
Attend rehearsal for First Communion Mass
Parental requirements
Register their child for Faith Formation classes
(This registration includes Sacramental registration)
Submit a copy of their child's Baptismal certificate
Listen to three presentations on the Real Presence of the Eucharist, which will be sent via email
Attend three mandatory parent meetings
Attend First Communion and Reconciliation Retreat with their child
